 News: WORLD PRESIDENT IS FROM SOUTH AFRICA !! The recent 8th World Congress on Environmental Health held in Durban, staged the inauguration of the 8th World President of The Institute of Environmental Health. Jerry Chaka took over the reins from outgoing American president Diane Evens at a glittering banquet held at the International Convention Centre in Durban. Jerry is the first Black president of the IFEH as well as the first president from Africa! His knowledge of African issues will bring a new dimension to the IFEH. His vast experience in Environmental Health will play a significant role in dealing with matters for the IFEH. The SAIEH will be at the cutting edge of new developments in the International arena and will be able to benefit first hand. Jerry is expected to travel extensively during the next two years in doing so he will meet experts from all of the world - a plus for the SAIEH. The SAIEH will gain valuable exposure in the International EH community. His appointment as well as the staging of what has been hailed as the best ever World Environmental Health World Congress, has and will continue to highlight the advances made in Environmental Health matters in South Africa. On behalf of the Institute and all that know and work with Jerry - we wish him the very best as in his new capacity as president of the IFEH. CONGRATULATIONS and well done Jerry!
